Working principle and structural composition of wheelchair static stability testing machine

  Wheelchair static stability testing machineIt is a key testing device used to evaluate the anti overturning ability of wheelchairs in a stationary state, widely used in medical device quality inspection, product development, and certification testing. Its core function is to simulate the force state of a wheelchair at different tilt angles, and verify whether it meets the requirements of international standards (such as ISO 7176-1) or national standards (such as GB/T 18029.1) regarding static stability in the front, back, left, and right directions.

1、 Working principle

The testing machine is based on the "tilted platform method" for testing. Fix the wheelchair to be tested on an adjustable tilt testing platform, which can tilt independently or in conjunction in both longitudinal (front back) and transverse (left and right) directions. By slowly increasing the tilt angle until the wheelchair is about to overturn (i.e. any wheel is off the ground), the larger recorded tilt angle in that direction is the static stability angle. The entire process requires ensuring that the wheelchair is in an unloaded or standard loaded state (such as simulating the weight of the user), and keeping the system stationary to eliminate dynamic inertia interference. High precision angle sensors and inclinometers collect real-time data, and some devices are also equipped with video surveillance or torque feedback systems to improve testing accuracy and repeatability.

2、 Structural composition

The wheelchair static stability testing machine mainly consists of the following parts:

1. Tilt platform: usually made of high-strength aluminum alloy or steel platform, with anti slip surface, size suitable for various wheelchairs, and can achieve angle adjustment within ± 30 ° or even larger range.

2. Drive and angle adjustment mechanism: Using servo motors or hydraulic/pneumatic systems in conjunction with precision reduction mechanisms to achieve smooth and controllable tilting movements.

3. Angle measurement system: Integrated high-resolution tilt angle sensor or encoder, real-time display and recording of tilt angle, with an accuracy of ± 0.1 °.

4. Wheelchair fixing device: including adjustable stops, straps or fixtures, to ensure the stability of the wheelchair position during the testing process and avoid slippage affecting the results.

5. Control system and software: Set test parameters, automatically execute test processes, and generate test reports that meet certification requirements through human-machine interfaces (such as touch screens or PC software).

6. Safety protection devices: such as limit switches, emergency stop buttons, and anti fall brackets, to ensure the safety of operators and equipment.
