Operation Specification for Battery Short Circuit Testing Machine: Practical Manual for Avoiding Testing Risks

Share:

The battery short-circuit test is a crucial step in evaluating the safety performance of batteries, and improper operation can easily lead to risks such as battery fire and explosion. From the perspective of the entire process, the following is a summaryBattery short-circuit testing machineThe key points of standardized operation are to help avoid safety hazards and testing errors.

1、 Before operation: risk prevention and equipment inspection

1. Environment and personnel preparation: The test should be conducted in an explosion-proof testing room with good ventilation and no flammable materials. Operators should wear insulated gloves, goggles, and fire-resistant work clothes; Clean the testing bench in advance, ensure smooth emergency access, and prepare emergency equipment such as dry powder fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

2. Equipment and sample inspection: Before starting up, check whether the power/gas supply of the testing machine is stable, whether the short-circuit module wiring is firm, and whether the temperature sensor, current monitor and other components are normal; Verify the parameters of the battery to be tested (such as voltage and capacity), confirm compatibility with the testing machine, remove defective batteries with bulging or leaking appearance, and avoid rupture during testing.

2、 In operation: standardize processes and real-time monitoring

1. Sample installation: Fix the battery steadily on a dedicated fixture, ensuring accurate connection between the positive and negative poles and the short-circuit terminal to avoid poor contact and local overheating; The clamping force of the fixture is moderate to prevent deformation and damage of the battery, while avoiding accidental short circuits caused by exposed metal parts.

2. Parameter setting and startup: Set the short-circuit resistance (usually below 0.1 Ω), test duration, and other parameters according to the testing standards (such as GB/T 18287), and repeatedly check for accuracy before starting the equipment; Real time monitoring of screen data during the testing process, with a focus on short-circuit current and changes in battery surface temperature. If there is a sudden drop in current or abnormal temperature surge (exceeding 80 ℃), the test will be immediately suspended.

3、 After operation: secure closure and record archiving

After the experiment is completed, wait for the battery to cool to room temperature (below 40 ℃) before removing the fixture to avoid burns caused by high-temperature batteries; Classify and process the tested batteries (if damaged, they should be placed in an explosion-proof box), clean the testing machine table and fixtures, and turn off the equipment power/air source. At the same time, detailed records of test parameters, process data, and equipment status are kept to form a complete file for easy traceability and subsequent equipment maintenance.

Strictly following the above specifications can effectively reduce the safety risks of battery short-circuit testing, while ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test data, providing strong support for battery safety performance evaluation.
